Supporting The Silver Line

The Silver Line would not exist without the generosity of our supporters.
As you have read, we have already taken more than 100,000 calls in our first six months of national operation and there is an ever increasing demand for our service.

Please help us make sure we can answer every call and offer friendship to every older person who needs us, people like Barbara who said:

“One day last week when I had (again!) woken in the early hours feeling anxious and worrying about all sorts of things,  I did phone Silver Line.

I had a helpful conversation with a kind and sensible lady named Sheila. I wish I had known her and she had been my friend.”

Ways you can help:

  • Make a regular gift to The Silver Line.

£5 pays for a call with an older person who may not have spoken to another human being all week

£50 pays to recruit and train a volunteer to become a Silver Line Friend

£100 pays for a caller to be befriended for one year

£250 will pay for one caller to be supported by the helpline and their own Silver Line Friend for one year

Regular gifts provide us with predictable income and help us plan for the future. If you would like to support The Silver Line with a direct debit please fill in the form over the page.
