To celebrate The Silver Line’s fourth birthday last November, we unveiled a very special work of art in our London office, our Silver Celebration Tree. Hand -sculpted in metal, it is installed on our entrance wall, greeting every visitor, and will evolve and change as we add gold, silver and bronze leaves, creating a beautiful and unique piece of art.
Every leaf on the Celebration Tree displays a name and a short message to celebrate someone special, someone who should have a lasting memorial. A leaf could become a wonderful way to mark an anniversary, or become a lasting birthday or wedding gift for someone who is part of your life, or perhaps the way of creating a permanent memory of a beloved older person who has passed away.
By adding a leaf to our tree, you will be contributing crucial funds to The Silver Line, enabling us to reach out to even more older people who have nobody to talk to, and who believe that no one else cares about them. Founder and President Dame Esther Rantzen added the first celebratory leaf to our tree, using a gold leaf to to celebrate her mother Katherine Rantzen.
The leaves are available for donations of £1,000, £5,000 and £10,000 and the money from each will be used to provide the gift of friendship and conversation for the thousands of older people who depend upon The Silver Line. We would love you to be part of the creation of this very special work of art celebrating someone dear to you, and join us in supporting some of the most vulnerable older people in the UK.
