Eileen Hammond

Eileen is an independent Charity Consultant with 40 years’ experience in the charity sector.She has lived and worked in many areas of the UK from hands-on fundraising manager, to Director level, and Chief Executive.

In 1999 she set up her own consultancy, advising small or new charities on fundraising and management, and related issues such as governance, strategic direction and development.

Alongside her professional career, Eileen has been a volunteer for numerous organisations including the Scout Association,  the National Trust, and Inner Wheel – where she has just completed a year as District Chairman; she has also held various trusteeships.

A member of the Institute of Fundraising since 1989 and, having served on a number of their Committees including the Standards Committee when it developed the Codes of Fundraising Practice, and a past Honorary Secretary, Eileen was awarded their Fellowship in 2001.

Eileen is the author of Patrons, Presidents & Personalities – working with high level volunteers, a practical guide for charities on working with celebrity influencers based on her expertise in this area through her involvement in setting up a number of new charities. Commissioned by the Directory of Social Change it remains the only book on this subject a decade after its publication in 2008.
